Curlyz build their creative impulses upon the pillars of timeless songwriting. Think of the writing of Lennon and McCartney, Ray Davies, or even Andy Partridge, storytelling songs that are socially and culturally aware, set to the backdrop of pop melodies and earworm harmonies.

This basis comes alive on this French duo’s most recent output, an album entitled What’s That Chord? It is a colourful set with an unforgettable  character, shimmering and glimmering in sun-soaked textures and tones, and providing audiences with a lasting listening experience every time. And as the buzz and momentum surrounding the album continues to gradually build, Curlyz took a brief respite to chat with Aldora Britain Records about their musical journey so far.

We discussed formative creative memories from their adolescence, the beginnings and early days of the band, a selection of their recorded output to date, and much, much more.
